London has not been very ‘summery’. I was really looking forward to wearing my new slip dress for quite sometime and I finally gave in last Saturday and wore it – rain and all. We were in Oxford Street which was decorated with flags and banners for the Pride Parade – so fun!
So I admit slip dresses are a difficult style. Finding a slip dress that doesn’t look like something you should have just worn to bed isn’t easy. I have another lingerie inspired black one which I haven’t had the chance to wear yet – I definitely need some ideas on how to style that one. So in contrast, this was easy and I loved the leaf print. It felt like a dress I can wear on a hot day in London as well as pack it for a beach vacation.
Outfit details: green leaf print slip dress and brown stud wedge heels (similar) from Topshop, coral lipstick Sienna from Boots No.7. brown men’s necklace (unknown brand) and Dune handbag from House of Fraser.
So have any of you tried to work a slip dress? And of course, I was cold in the evening when it started pouring. So there is a lesson for my next slip dress adventure – take a wrap along. Always.
House of Fraser let me choose one of their bags for a summer outfit. I loved this one from Dune. I loved the colour and the gold hardware details – especially the hanging chain. Its not very fashionable to match your bags and shoes anymore. But these were the perfect attention grabbing yet classic accessories to pair with the slip dress.
I am hoping for a sunny weekend next. Maybe I can try out my black slip dress this time!

The cross body bag was sent to Fashion and Frappes as a PR sample.
