Anisha had to do a lot of convincing to get me to do a ‘selfie’ post. Only when she sent me few of her own pictures did I realise maybe this wasn’t such a bad idea (lets just say there is a reason that none of Anisha’s selfies made it to this post). Please don’t think I am totally obnoxious, it’s just that I do manage to end up getting it right. There are tricks to be mastered. So I now have a little tutorial for you. And if you are good at it do add in more tips – the more the merrier!
Good Lighting
This is the basic – good lighting. Your face should be bright and well lit. It could be the full frontal or even the side of your face, those turn out to be great selfies too.
Good Side
Very important – the angle. Everyone has a good side (I am serious). Mine is the right. Identify your good side and even when others are taking pictures squeeze yourself accordingly so that your perfect side gets clicked ( ignore all dirty looks).
Camera Distance
You need to have space between you and the camera. Stretch out your arms when clicking and try and get your shoulders in the picture. This will help make your face look the right size as opposed to a watermelon (I have few of those).
Camera Angle
After your good side has been decided it doesn’t just end there. You cannot have the camera too low, this is to avoid showing us your double chin/ heavy chin. I, if you notice in my pictures hold my phone to my right and a little high this helps make my face look a bit longer. I have a round face. Yes I do, it bothers me 🙁 but yay I got my selfie right!
Selfie with Others or a Groupfie
You can do nothing here. Just smile and hope for the best. Just make sure the shorter person is not the one clicking.
The Funny Selfie
Don’t lie – you have tried this one too. This is when you try to be cute. Its a thin line I must warn you – you want to be cute, not annoying or obnoxious. Involves making faces, sticking your tongue out. Frankly not much help can be offered by me here except if its not you, skip.
Front Camera
Do use your phones with the front camera for selfies. I see a lot of people taking selfies with their back camera. You definitely need to see what you are clicking.
Happy clicking guys! And if have any other advice, write in. We would love to add on more tips. And maybe our post will give you more inspiration for selfies!

I just found your blog and when I saw the word “frappe” I immediately went to the “About” page to see if you are from Greece or Cyprus (my country) cause frappe is our “trademark” coffee hahaha 🙂
You have a lovely blog girls! 🙂

I know! We know it as a Starbucks drink but I know its a Greek or Cypriot drink. My Greek friends said the same thing! Thanks so much for reading!
I actually love this post. I’m a huge advocate of taking selfies. When you’re feeling good about yourself, what the harm in remember that moment?
Of course – totally agreed Sarah!
I am lazy so I just think wearing red is a getway card to making your outfit look a lot more interesting than it actually is!
