MTV Roadies Rising auditions have just come to an end in Chandigarh, and its been a great journey. Our judges look great and our host even more so! If you follow Roadies you know that Gaelyn Mendonca hosts the show and does a great job of it. This year when we had our first meeting to discuss references and the look, the one sentence out of her mouth was “Bidisha, lets look hot!” and then laughed for a good fifteen minutes. Well what can I say, she does look pretty hot.
Gaelyn had six looks in all and we tried keeping them as different to each other that we possibly could. The colours in stores were mostly Winter 2016 colours like black, white, oxblood, blush pink, military and olive greens along with metallics like silver and gold. I left the green for the men and worked with the rest.
Black and blush pink is my present season’s favourite colour combination and we did it twice. I also noticed that velvet is back in fashion and we managed to pull one look off, though it’s not a fabric that I care for much.
Outfit details : Top and palazzo pants from Zara, black lace choker, cuff and ring from Forever21, shoes are Gaelyn’s own.
The weather was perfect, Delhi was a little cold but that didn’t stop us from pulling off a mini skirt. Last year and this year has one thing in common, high waist which is still pretty much in fashion. The biggest difference is from crop tops we moved on to bodysuits and from knee length skirts we are back to minis.
As the holidays come closer I seem to find more bling in the shops. The metallic gold and silver skirts in Zara look great. Long jackets are not only still in trend for women but even men this season. We teamed off the silver skirt with a sleeveless long shrug and a silver neckpiece which we made to go through her bralette rather than from top.
Outfit details : Bralette, neck piece and long jacket from Forever21, silver skirt and boots from Zara.
The second look for Delhi we opted for high waisted pants and a sleeveless furry jacket. Very different from any look that we have ever done with her. For this we decided to go for black pumps rather than boots again. We poured over pinterest every morning for hair styles and I think we were pretty spot on. Don’t you?
The last look we decided to go for was a checkered shirt dress. A belt is all it takes to complete the look.
I hope you loved her outfits as much as I loved styling them. Have a great shopping filled holiday! We have some great shopping and gift guides on the blog so do check those out!
