Now for a change from all the winter shopping you must be doing, let me tell you what the three of us have been up to.
Fall/Winter also happens to be the wedding season and coincidentaly all three of us attended quite a few weddings recently. Indian weddings are famous for all the vibrant colors, the amazing food and most importantly the gorgeous fashion. So I thought it would be fun to share a few pictures of us and a few of our friends at these weddings! I attended a big fat punjabi wedding. It was my first, and it lived up to all my expectations (which if I’m honest, mostly came from watching Bollywood movies). All the customs and ceremonies were beautiful, and always somehow ended with the whole family dancing. There was music, mehndi, yummy food, the whole nine yards. It was a really fun experience but at the end of it I was exhausted. These guys sure can party!
This is one of my favorite saris that I’ve designed. I love the fact that even though its such a bright color the sari itself is quite simple, and easy to carry. I wore this for the reception.
I wore this for the sangeet ceremony. Would you believe that this is the only anarkali I own? I even wore it for Diwali! Honestly I prefer saris, but I was supposed to be dancing in the sangeet and was very scared that that sari would give up on me halfway through. Mandira’s (the lovely bride’s) lehnga was actually custom made using parts of her mom’s wedding sari. I thought that was such a beautiful idea!
This is what I wore for the wedding. I think this tree should officially be named the ‘selfie tree’ because seriously every single wedding guest took a picture under it. Including me, not in the least ashamed to admit it ๐ Bidisha attended her friend’s wedding in Goa. How fun is that? Love destination weddings! Notice how all the bride’s friends wore coordinated saris for the mehendi ceremony. They all looked amazing and so colorful. I love all the saris! All the saris that Bidisha is wearing she designed herself. My personal favorite is this one below, love the colors!
Anisha recently travelled to India for a short trip. And while she was here she attended a wedding! I love the combination the gold lace and accessories with the red lip. She designed her sari herself as well. Also please feel free to spend a few moments staring at those amazing shoes!
So I hope you enjoyed our wedding fashion, and it gave you some inspiration for the wedding season. As you can see designing our own saris is quite a passion for us. I can’t even think of buying one from a store anymore! Let us know which ones your favorite ๐
Also just a little reminder to vote for us, if you haven’t already, in the National UK Blog Awards! We are entered in theย fashion and lifestyle categories.
