Fashionable Workwear: Part 2

16 June 2015 · 4 Comments

Hello! Please have a look at Part 1 of this post which deal with the basic outfits – shirts and blouses, dresses, skirts and trousers. This post covers:

  • blazers, jumpers and cardigans,
  • shoes,
  • bags, and
  • other accessories.

I know this post is a little late. Honestly, I forgot about it for sometime till a friend reminded me. And then I kept thinking I should wait after summer since this is about fashionable workwear in the form of jackets, blazers and so on. But this is not about outerwear or coats!

Jackets, blazers, cardis and jumpers

In keeping with the fashionable and slightly alternative nature of this post, black blazers will not be featured here. This peach one is the perfect blazer for summer! New Look Striped White and Black Pinstripe Blazer fashionable workwear And this striped one I have been eyeing for quite sometime but since I just got myself a white blazer so I feel I can’t really be so tempted! K3_Pale_Pink_Female_Hires_hires A cashmere jumper is a must have for work. They are a classic. I like these unisex merino – cashmere jumpers. These are exactly the kind of good quality, workwear staples you need to have on hand. And I love the pastel colours. The only problem is choosing one. I really liked this baby pink v-neck one. These are great to wear just with a shirt or under a blazer as well. I love this look – an OOTD on its way! Shoes Seriously – no more black pumps. I know they are perfect for work, look sharp and are easy to wear on a night out as well but no. Keep the black pumps for your fun day boyfriend jeans and wear these to work instead. Atleast for sometime. This list looks beyond pumps and beyond black. blue-sandals I really liked the look of these blue suede sandals (and they are also available in grey). They are almost like our favour pumps but a slightly different updated summer style. And its not a completely wild colour but much more interesting than the plain black kitten heels I got.f21 1040041010_1_1_1 1. Oxfords 2. These printed slippers will definitely be the most comfortable shoes you get away with at work. Bags  Black briefcases or bags look great and are convenient. But are not interesting anymore. For me, I do love big black structured bags but tend to get bored of them quickly as well. These are some just as convenient alternatives. Bags in neutral colors go well with any outfit and are a great way to add some texture to your outfit.

Other accessories This dotted iPhone cover is probably the cutest and still most respectable one you can place on a table during a meeting and (maybe) not be embarrassed. 🙂

This one is a lot more respectable.

I am not very much in favour of wearing a lot of jewellery at work but these earrings couldn’t be more perfect. I am not a fan of pearls but fake pearls in an interesting design could be ok. 🙂

This is a more interesting belt than most, although I admit it may be a little more difficult to wear. And a bow belt might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but this one is dainty enough for work, and will add a interesting touch if the rest of your outfit is simple.

We are finally done! Was this helpful? Anything obvious I missed? And most importantly, did this charge you up to go to work tomorrow? Maybe our workwear posts will give you some more ideas!

Love it…. Apart from the long line jackets though, I also the shorter ones…. There’s a whole range of very summary prints which can jazz up a basic dress!

Yeah…I think I have an aversion to short jackets and am obsessed with long blazers. But definitely doesn’t work with skirts! I should explore!
