How to Wear Summer Clothes in Winter #OOTD

4 February 2015 · 8 Comments

Its not shocking that once its officially winter and I can no longer wear skirts without tights or go out without at least two layers, I long to wear all my summer clothes. A friend in India recently asked me how I have managed – have I packed up my summer clothes (or Bombay clothes), forgotten till next year or do I still try to make them work? I have been trying to make them work – with varying results. This is one of the success stories of wearing my summer clothes with a winter twist. I have talked about the coat here and the beanie and scarf in this Shopping Bag post.

Sheinside striped tee dress, black high neck ribbed jumper (unbranded), Zara leather coat + biker jacket, Forever 21 maroon beanie and black faux leather plimsolls, brick red scarf and structured bag.

This high neck ribbed jumper is one I wear quite a lot, but mostly as a layering piece like I mentioned here. Its the perfect piece to wear underneath dresses and tops – not too warm but just warm enough and thin enough. Do you have any other tricks and tips on how to make use of your summer clothes in winter? Let me know please – I would love to try!

I always wear tights under shirts and dresses over the winter too! Since I live in socal, I wear my summer clothes pretty much all year round, but when it does dip down to 60 °F, I find layering with the summer pieces is always fun 🙂

(Oh, and just a suggestion for pics, but I thinking taking them lower, so the camera is angled up instead of down will help. This allows you look taller and more proportional and stuff.)

Aww! Thanks so much for the tips Gloria! London makes wearing summer clothes a real challenge but I am determined to try!

This outfit is so minimalistic yet chic at the same time! Between silver and gold, I’m a gold person too, but my absolute fave is definitely rose gold!
