I finally managed to wear my sunny new yellow cotton midi dress. I love it, and have been waiting for wear it for what seems like forever. The last couple of weeks..no actually the last couple of months have been pretty crazy. I changed jobs! I’d been working at this place for close to nine years so quitting and moving on to a new firm was quite bitter sweet. I didn’t realize how much of a routine it had become, like I’d arranged my whole life around this one constant and now suddenly I have to change everything around. Its pretty fun!

Now since my weeks have become a whirl of activity, starting at my new office, meeting new people, trying to remember their names 😛 , I decided on the weekend instead of hitting our usual watering hole it would be fun to just hang out at home with friends. Like an old-school house party. Or a toned down chilled out version of it with a bunch of 30-somethings 😀
This is what I wore for the obligatory morning after brunch, which we also ordered in and had at home FYI. Yep, we really commit when we decide to be lazy.

Dress from Westside Stores, necklace from The Hype, metallic mules from H&M, shades from a mall kiosk – similar

I absolutely love my outfit. Since I’ve decided to wear color I have really embraced these shift dresses made with traditional Indian fabrics and prints. Look out for lots more of these dresses coming soon on the blog. Turns out when you are not constantly asking “Does it come in black?” you find a lot of fun interesting clothes you wouldn’t even have looked at before. In keeping with the theme of my lazy ass weekend I took all the photos indoors too. But I just couldn’t be bothered with any makeup, so the sunglasses were mandatory 😀

In all, quite pleased with my minimal effort Sunday indoor brunch outfit. What would you wear to a lazy house party? Pajamas? Or would you dress up? Do tell us.
