What To Wear For Diwali: Our Outfit Picks

2 November 2015 · 4 Comments

Diwali is right around the corner and we are very excited! It’s my favorite time of the year to shop for Indian wear as the stores are stocked with colourful, festive wear. Not to mention all the great Diwali discounts! So this year we’ll make your Diwali shopping slightly easier and let you know our personal picks of the lot. All three of us decided to contribute to this one as we have quite different styles and it would make for a more varied list.

Aqua is one of Bidisha’s favourite colours so it’s  not a surprise that this Biba outfit is on her list.

Diwali Soch pants and kurta

This blue and black one from Soch is perfect for any Diwali cards party in the evening!

On a safety note, cotton in the best material to be in near candles and crackers. This bright coral and teal Biba kurta caught my eye. It definitely doesn’t look like simple cotton could look this dressy.

We also own quite a few kurtas from Anokhi – I am quite a fan. If you love prints and simple ethnic wear , do take a look at few of their styles. I loved this dress – traditional, yet different and modern, simple yet dramatic – all at the same time.

Diwali Anita Dongre pink

For someone like Anisha who is not very fond of bright colours, W’s kurtas are lovely. This one was her pick and is perfectly festive enough for Diwali but still not too colourful.

Anisha’s mum-in-law introduced her to Jaypore and she in turn introduced me. They seem to have some lovely designs. I liked this one – great for Diwali lunch and after!

Hope you find some inspiration from our favorites and wish you a very colourful and safe Diwali. Lots of love from us here at Fashion and Frappes to you and you families. Big hugs and kisses!
