Most of my wardrobe is black. It’s no secret and I’ve made peace with it. A few weeks ago I was very inspired by Pinterest and decided to color code my closet. You know – to make it look like how it is in all the organizational tutorials and pictures. I had this great image in my mind of rainbow colored tops all neatly hanging in my closet – all color coded. However 5 minutes into the actual organizing I realized about 80% of my clothes are black, and majority of the rest are either white or grey. It put the biggest smile on my face.

It also got me wondering, is there really a reason not to wear all black? Head to toe black is the easiest, fastest and the most fool proof way to put together an instantly chic outfit. You don’t have to worry about your clothes matching, you can layer endlessly and if you’re so inclined even accessorize endlessly.
And it is also universally flattering, no matter what shade or size you are. Its perfect! Also all the fashion people are always strutting around in all black outfits (think Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, Victoria Beckham, hell even Kendall Jenner), so if you ever wanted to dress like one or be fashion-y, this would be the easiest way to do it.
So by now I’m sure I’ve convinced you, and dragged you over to the dark side ( see what I did there 😀 ). To make things easier I’ve put together some pieces that I believe are all you need to create endless all black outfits. The items can be mixed and matched and worn forever, because in all honestly black will always be the new black. It will never go out of fashion. Ever.
You might be wondering why I’ve included an umbrella in there. Its been raining endlessly in Bangalore these last few weeks and I found myself looking for a non-generic umbrella. Which turned out to be surprisingly difficult. If you have to carry one might as well get a fancy one right? Also the phone case speaks how I feel literally every second of my life so I had to throw that in there as well. Hope you find something in there that you like!
Do you wear a lot of black too? Or are you like our Bidisha a fan of all the colors in the rainbow? Tell us! Till next time 🙂

I’m all about colour. You can’t drag me over to the all black side 😛 Although I’m a huge fan of pattern so when I wear black and grey, I wear it in patterns to break up the endless monotone
Haha I’ll keep trying Selina! I love patterns too, though they mostly end up being black and white for me 😀
80% of my closet is also shades of black, gray, and white. No regrets. Black will always be the new black, if that makes sense!
It makes total sense! Love it!
Haha! Same here. I am trying to try out new stuff but its hard to let go!
Lovely post. The full sleeve-white collar dress is really nice. Unfortunately, they don’t have one in my size.
Do drop by my blog, when you feel like. https://chaihigh.net/
I did, and I love it! ‘One Hostel room please’ reminded me of so much of my own hostel room sharing days that I literally LOL’d.
Black is universal and it looks great with any other colour, I sometimes go go monochrome when wearing black and add a pop of colour

Same here – I love all black with a pop of colour, usually red!
