What to Wear Where: To a Wedding #OOTD

I recently attended a friends wedding here in Bangalore. It was a beautiful ceremony, everything was so pretty! The church, the flowers and of course the bride was a vision in white. So lets talk about wedding wear – the most important thing about a wedding!

Weddings for me personally always bring up visuals of  vivid red and gold, as thats what most traditional Indian brides normally wear. So if you were to go to an Indian wedding, it would be wise to avoid wearing red just in case. But on this occasion since I knew the bride was going to wear white 🙂 , I  though it would be fun to wear something red with gold accents, as a sort of fun fusion vibe.

I decided on this red cocktail dress, featured in my Forever 21 shopping bag awhile ago, with some chunky black strappy heels. Wearing this dress honestly was a lot of hard work. I had to wear spanx, which is okay for a short while but over an extended period I literally felt like I could not deal with it. And then I was scared to eat or drink anything! The dress itself wasn’t that tight, it was the spanx that really ruined it for me. Does its job though, so at this point I can’t decide if I love or hate it.

The shoes are another matter. I love them to death! A word of advice if you’re planning to go to a day long affair. Which in my case it was, as we went to the reception directly from the church. Its best to carry a spare pair of flats with you just in case. At the end of the night at the reception my feet were killing me, so I just ended up changing into my comfy flats for all the fun dancing!

Tried to take a good picture of  my makeup but don’t think I’ve mastered it yet 🙂 How do you feel about spanx, love hate or can’t live without it?
