The last project that I worked on was not just crazy and exciting but also pretty intimidating, to be honest. Now that the promotion has gone public let me give you a bit of detail on what this project was. Anybody and pretty much everybody has heard of The Next Top Model. My team and I were styling for the promo as well as the poster for India’s next top model.

The few days leading to the shoot as well as the shoot day was absolute madness. We were styling Anusha Dandekar, Milind Soman, Neeraj Gaba and Dabboo Ratnani. Along with the four celebrities there were six models who had two changes each. Since the poster is not out yet, I can only talk and discuss the promo shoot.

Anusha Dandekar – She is adorable. We have worked together for the past ten years and have had some of the greatest shoots and the best time. She is lean and slim, very confidant and can pretty much carry off anything I give her. This particular outfit is quite bold but she looked flawless and wore it with great ease. Since the set was quite crowded we took some quick pictures in her vanity van.

Outfit details: Dress designed by Bidisha Kohli, gold shoes from Steve Madden (similar), earring and rings from The Little Bauble Box.
Her dress was not easy to make, we gave fabric for dying to get the right pink, and the work in her bodice was very delicate. The ruffles at the end was a last minute idea and addition by my assistant Forum.
Milind Soman – Now who doesn’t know this man? Since the time music videos became famous, so did he. He is an Indian supermodel, actor, film producer and also a fitness promoter. It was quite difficult to get in touch with him before the shoot to discuss details, so we pretty much decided ourselves on his outfit and I have a feeling I bullied him into wearing it. To be honest he would look good in the most atrocious of clothes.

I did have one really bizarre conversation with him though. I asked him over the phone what kind of shoe he would like to which he replied “I don’t wear shoes”. He was right, he doesn’t and he didn’t.

Outfit details : Blue jeans by G-Star Raw, white shirt from Louis Philippe , blazer designed by Bidisha Kohli, sandals from Aldo, scarf from Celio, watch is Armani Exchange, sunglasses are his own.
Neeraj Gaba – This man was an absolute pleasure to work with. He is the show director at LFW, also India’s Next Top Model panelist and mentor. He was very helpful with his ideas regarding his outfit and helped me with his look along with his personal stylist Manisha Melwani. They both knew what they were looking for making my life super simple.

We sourced his outfit from a well known designer and it looked great on the set. Very simple and different and totally in style.

Outfit detail – Outfit by designer Anuj Bhutani, shoes were Zara (similar), glasses from Vijay Optics, watch from Armani Exchange, collar rivets from Koovs.

Dabboo Ratnani – He is the famous leading Indian fashion photographer, known for his annual calendar and one of the judges for the show. His approach to fashion is quite quirky.
