An Unusual Grey Dress : #OOTD

2 October 2017 · 4 Comments

Is it too late to jump on the cold shoulder bandwagon? Probably not. Last time I gave it a shot, it was a super colorful outfit so this time I tried to keep it simpler. Also can you tell what my new favorite shoes are? I wore them in my last post as well, and whined about how there were almost destroyed that day. But they didn’t, instead they lived to see another day and make another of my outfits slightly more colorful.

I have days when I just want to throw on the least fussy outfit, can’t even be bothered with accessories or anything. This was not such a day. I matched my shoes with my bag, my nail polish with my lipstick (which I actually only realized when I saw the pictures) I was on a roll!

I really like this dress, the embroidery is super pretty and its actually made from fabric thats usually used for trousers or suits. I thought that was so cool! On its own its quite a simple dress but the unusual fabric makes it so much more interesting. Ever since we’ve started working on Zari, I’ve been noticing things like the fabric and material of the clothes I buy way more than I used to. It makes so much of a difference. Its also a big part of why I’ve started making some of my clothes. While hunting for fabrics for our saris, I often end up finding some really pretty fabric that I can make into a dress or something similar. Its quite fun.

Coming back to the dress, the first time I wore it I did so with white sneakers, and that looked great too. On this particular day we sort of  had a fun date planned so I wanted to dress up a bit. I also basically wanted an excuse to wear my pink heels again 😀 I had this sling clutch bag thing that is almost the exact color of the shoes, so I busted that out too. I’m usually not a fan of matching accesories but in this case the dress was so matte and neutral that I felt like I could get away with it.

I was quite happy with my outfit. It was comfortable, not too fancy but still interesting enough for a day out. Somehow I always reach for a dress when I want it to feel like a ‘not so ordinary day’, I’ve never realised that before. What would be your go to for a special day? Let us know! Also did you know that ZARA is now going to be sold online in India from 4th October?! I am so excited! No more trekking to the outskirts of the city just to go to Zara. I can’t wait! Bye bye money 😛 As always, come say hi on our Twitter, check out our Instagram and like our Facebook page! Till next time 🙂

No no its actually grey with white embroidery, not denim or blue at all. It just shows up like that in pictures for some reason 🙁
