Styling For a Music Video: Fuchsia Tutu Skirts

3 December 2014 · 7 Comments

I have long wanted to write a post about my work, tell you a little more about what I do. So this post gives a little insight into one of my projects. Here goes. These are a few pictures from one of my recent shoots, where I was styling the actors. The shoot took place in Surve Farms which is a two hours drive from Mumbai. The shoot was for a Punjabi music video called ‘Kamli‘ which means ‘crazy’. My director Avinash, gave me the liberty to decide the look for the main girl in the video and the singers. His brief requirement from me was ‘I want her to wear a skirt’. Since the location was on a farm, outdoors, the image of fuchsia pink against the brown grass was stuck in my head. And I wanted to do something fun. So I decided to use a fuchsia pink tutu skirt as a lehenga/ maxi skirt!

Finding a full-length fuchsia pink tutu skirt in Mumbai was not easy, so I decided to get it stitched from my master tailor. The top is a simple one from Forever 21. The bangles she is wearing are mine – a mix of Forever21 and Accessorize.
Doesn’t she look lovely!

Hope you like what you see and this gives you some ideas and fun inspiration – I know I want to wear a fuchsia pink tutu skirt right now! Enjoy!
