Some of you may have read the heading for this post and wanted to punch me. Its 35 degrees and you want me to layer? I know – I feel the pain too. I have been in Calcutta for the past week or so and no amount of rain and storm seems to make it cooler. But I love layering – its makes an outfit just a little more interesting. Summer layering is a challenge – I mean you barely want to wear one layer and optional layers are not an option in this heat. So lets get to it.
Summer layering needs to be useful. Basically if you are putting on more than one layer it has to serve a very real purpose. But at the same time if it gets bad enough, you should have the option to discard it in a hurry. So thats what I did.
Outfit details: Blue waistcoat from FabIndia (similar), white sneakers from Stradivarius, black bag (similar), white shirt from Hill Road, Mumbai, silver statement necklace from Cairo and lipstick is Ruby Woo from MAC.
I wore this lovely waistcoat with this thin cotton shirt instead of wearing a camisole underneath. Its definitely a more interesting look! Added in the statement necklace and the red lipstick to finish it off. So essentially instead of wearing a layer underneath I wore the waistcoat on top.
Seeing these jeans once again reminds me that I need to buy a pair of new jeans. I am bored of these by now. I will be reporting back from my denim hunt soon!
