Summer Days And Something Blue

Another day, another T-shirt dress. If you’ve ever gotten dressed knowing that you’re going to spend the day, or at least a good part of it, eating some great food then this outfit will make a lot of sense to you. And I mean really eating, like looking forward to it for a week maybe skipped a meal in anticipation for it type of eating. On this particular occasion, I was invited by Pizza Hut to try out their new menu, their newest cracker thin crust pizzas. Need I say more? I think not.

As I’ve mentioned (read whined about) multiple times over the last couple of months, Bangalore is just killing me with this never ending heat wave. Makes even the thought of getting dressed very stressful. I find myself making up all sorts of creative excuses to avoid stepping outside, even dinners require too much effort.

Dress – Forever21, Shoes – Aldo, Bag – H&M, Necklace – was a present.

On the rare occasions that I’m lured out of the my nice air-conditioned room, like that time when I was invited to try delicious new pizza and give my expert opinion, something that I’ve clearly been training for my whole life, t-shirt dresses seem to have become my uniform. As far as t-shirt dresses go, this one is about as basic as they come.

Since I was headed to a semi casual event, I needed to jazz it up a bit and decided to pair it with all silver accessories – statement necklace, a big tote, even silver shoes, but all in slightly varying shades and tones, to avoid it looking too matchy matchy. I contemplated wearing a broad waist cinching belt with this for a moment but then I remembered the eating portion of the afternoon and decided against it. But otherwise a wide corset type belt would look great with this. I love how this turned out, and more importantly – how comfortable I was all day.

I went shopping right after, so obviously had to do a quick shoe change. These are from Catwalk. Never go shopping in heels! Do you have a summer uniform? Tell me what it is. Bonus points if it’s also a t-shirt dress 😛
