Unlike my sister Anisha who did her “no shopping October” my October was absolutely opposite. Since my parents were in London I gave them a long shopping list of things that I wanted and carried on with my own list here. These are the top five things which were and some weren’t on my list. To be honest I secretly (not so secretly anymore) blame it entirely on Anisha. Why?

The first thing I bought was a very similar red skirt, not patent leather but suede. I just have to wear the same outfit, it helps with the fact that I already own the same t-shirt. After I read her post the skirt was just something I had to own. The funny thing is that I don’t usually wear red and own very little red clothing. Looking forward to wearing it with my own take on the outfit.

Red skirt from Zara (similar) (gift from Akshay)
After a lot of back and forth I finally bought a black jacket. It’s purely for winter and no use to me in Mumbai. I kept eyeing this other pale pink one but this one just seemed so much more smarter. I suddenly feel like a copy cat, deciding on a black jacket only after seeing Akshay, my boyfriend try on a black leather one which looked really great on him. That black faux leather jacket was of course my next purchase of the month.

Black jacket from Zara (similar in leather).

Black leather jacket from Zara (similar in bomber style).
My assistants and I were sourcing at Lower Parel, Phoenix mill for a shoot and we had a time crunch. While zipping through the stores my eyes fell on a dress and I knew I would have nightmares if I didn’t buy it. Having bought clothes for a lot of people I usually manage to pick up stuff for myself without having to try them on, which is exactly what I did and I love it.

Floral pleated dress from H&M.
Last on my list is a pair of pants which I had no plans of buying but is now my favourite. Its comfortable and looks great. There were few colours but the grey looks the best.
