Summer in Cinque Terre – and you still have time to book your next holiday!

22 July 2015 · 6 Comments

The day I published our Bordeaux post, I was already off on my next holiday to Cinque Terre. How absolutely amazing is that!

Cinque Terre is in Italy, driving distance from the city of Genoa. Its on the UNESCO world heritage list. Why? Because this is what it looks like!

Monorola, Cinque Terre, Italy

Which is still pretty amazing without the sunshine!

Cinque Terre is basically made up of five villages and all of them look just like Monorola (one of the villages) – its absolutely charming. The drive from Genoa is beautiful. All the pictures below are ones we clicked on the way.

We stayed in Monorola which we definitely thought was one of the nicest villages.

It had the cutest stores.

It has a long walking path along the sea leading to some cafes up on the hills which had the most fabulous views imaginable.

And you have to love a place which has boats parked around.

And I was obsessed with the store displays! Completely Pinterest worthy!

And umm…some novelty pasta.

And lots of lemons!

The other four villages are just as pretty. Although we stayed in Monorola, you can stay in any of the others and travel around. But we did enjoy Monorola the best.

Only two photographs have been brightened. None of the other photographs of  have been filtered or edited.

Update: The husband has sternly informed me that Cinque Terre is spelt with an ‘e’ at the end and not an ‘a’. I have corrected the spelling.

About 4 days and that was enough to see everything. I am surprised this isn’t more popular since its so easy to get to!

Lovely pictures. Thank you for sharing but these were taken in the Summer? It looks cold. We will be there in a couple of weeks. Everything I read says it will be hot. I’m trying to figure out my wardrobe.

These were definitely not in intense summer Kimberly! This was in May! It is definitely much warmer in August – Italy is HOT in August!
