Yes, I know. Using the term Bohemian for a particular look or outfit makes me cringe too. I mean boho or bohemian is not really about wearing long flowy tops and dresses. Its about a whole lifestyle or way of being. And lets face it. I am sitting in the middle of London, typing on my laptop, talking about a dress I got off the high street so by all accounts bohemian I am not. (I am probably the opposite of the concept of being bohemian if that makes sense.) But anyway, the issue is there was no other way to describe this other than as a bohemian black maxi dress.
Outfit details: Black flowy dress from Mango, quilted faux leather jacket from Next (similar), platform boots from H&M (worn and similar), necklace from Oasis (similar), boy bag from Chanel (worn and similar), liquid lipstick from Smashbox in Bawse
So obviously this dress was supposed to be a short one (you can see that on the model) and its almost a maxi one for me. Well what can you do? You have to make things work for you, play the hand you are given, make lemonade when life gives you lemons etc etc. 🙂
So I know it looks like I am super grumpy on this lovely sunny day. Trust me I am not. But I have to try really hard to keep a neutral expression and basically not have a giggling fit. DJ was taking the photographs and we were on the way to a coffee shop I wanted to check out. (Of course we reached about five minutes after the shop closed. Next time.)
A friend recently commented on how my blog pictures look great. Of course, she hasn’t seen the 50 pictures I take out of which only 7-8 go on the blog! Some more home truths!
