Hello from the city of joy! I have been in Calcutta (never Kolkata!) for the past week or so and its pretty amazing. I have actually eaten and shopped like there is a famine in London and the stores are all closed forever. I am not going to go into details right now because there are going to be extensive posts on that later. What I want to talk about is how hot it is here and how I can only manage wearing jeans and a tee.

We were going out for dinner recently and I got ready in a pair of jeans and a tee. Needless to say my mum does not think of jeans and a tee as appropriate dinner attire. Also the fact that my jeans are raw hemmed did not help matters. I put on my wedge heels to try and make it slightly dressier.

Outfit details: Comfy blue tee from Vero Moda, skinny jeans from Stradivarius, studded wedge heels from Topshop (similar) and brown cross-body bag from Dune, provided by the House of Fraser also worn in this post. I think I recently realised how much I have worn these jeans on the blog! With a long white shirt, a faux fur jacket, a white jacket, a striped turtleneck top and with a hat.
Wedge heels or not, my mum was not particularly impressed with my outfit. I admit its not going to win any prizes but your takeaway from this should be: add heels to elevate any outfit. And now I regret not swiping some Ruby Woo on my lips. That would definitely have helped!

(No pedicure, don’t care!) Also please note that picture credits (atleast for the first two pictures) go to my dad who very seriously indulged me!
I also had some news I wanted to mention. Next Sunday is Fashion and Frappes’ second birthday! We have something planned for you guys and we really hope you like it. Bidisha will be posting on Sunday – I would suggest keeping a look out for her post. Also make sure you follow us on Twitter and Instagram and subscribe for our emails so you know as soon as we have some news!
Hope your Monday is like a Friday!
– Anisha

Coming from London, I can see how uncomfy you would have felt in the hot & humid Calcutta. But hope you had some wonderful memories in Calcutta 🙂

Thanks Kadi! Its still available!
When you’re starting with an easy, neutral look like jeans and a white tee, there’s really no wrong way to accessorize it. Get playful and mix as many prints, colors, and textures as you can the bolder, the better.
