Sporty Chic Anyone?

15 May 2017 · 19 Comments

Your outfit on any given day is supposed to reflect your mood. It should allow the beholder a peak into how you’re feeling and what mood you were in while you got dressed. Well I can’t really tell you what mood I was in but I was definitely wishing I could just wear sweats instead.

Its finally happened. I’ve reached the point where I can’t buy new clothes anymore. It’s definitely not for the lack of trying, let me assure you. Its because I can’t find anything new I like. That I haven’t seen a million times on Instagram before. Every store I go to has the same stuff and I’m just tired of looking at it all over and over again. And bored, oh so bored. Think about it, how many people have you seen wearing that top/dress/shoes with the red embroidered roses? And the shirt with quirky patches? Every store has a version of it at this point. So tired of seeing it every where I look.

I get it, everyone wants to wear what’s ‘in’ so the stores have to carry it. But do they all want to wear the exact same thing? I don’t think so. At least I hope not. I’m seriously contemplating giving up on new clothes completely and just looking at vintage clothing stores. Please let me know if you know any good ones that’ll ship internationally.

On a more positive note this dilemma has forced me to revisit some things in my closet I’d forgotten I had. And attempt to wear them in different ways. For instance this skirt I’ve had for a while and even featured it here once.

While I’ve worn every single separate item in this outfit multiple times (lord knows I’ve worn that choker enough), I’ve never put them all together. I quite like how it turned out, very sporty chic even if I say so myself. The downside being that I broke my self imposed ‘no black this summer’ rule. And I was doing so well too! Ah well it was bound to happen..to be honest I’m surprised I even lasted this long 😀

I am tired of seeing cold shoulders and those shorts with patches. So much so that even ethnic wear brands have cold shoulder kurtas! I feel you! Haha.

I know right! Those cold shoulders everywhere. I love them but now afraid to wear them anywhere as I’m sure I’ll run into 20 people wearing the same thing 😀

Isn’t the whole point of being a fashionista the ability to be able to put together different pieces, reuse, mix n match and create a whole new look? I think you are doing complete justice! The blue skirt looks amazing on you in this sporty avatar as well as the previous look you created! Love this!

Yes! Thank you so much! Styling isn’t as much fun if you are buying new things everyday!

Thank you! Black is always my problem! Have a look at Anisha’s post about how to wear black in summer, I totally haven’t followed this though. 🙂

I love your outfit! And I totally feel you, I’m also lost as to where I can shop, tired of the same old places.

Omg! We both think alike! I feel like I’ve run out of clothes and I need to go shopping but there’s nothing different in the stores anymore. Last time I went shopping was in December.
