Tall Boots and (Not So Short) Shorts – Dune Kitten Heel Boots Review

18 October 2025 · Leave a Comment

It is not an exaggeration that 50% of the reason I was interested in moving to London from Bombay was so I could wear tall boots. (The other 50% was the food and weather – just kidding!).

The Outfit

I have been seeing a combination of tall boots and long shorts outfits all over Instagram and loved it for a number of reasons. First, it doesn’t require a specific item to be shopped for. Most of us have a pair of big winter boots that can be used and slightly longer shorts in most cases. Secondly, any outfit that gets my summer wardrobe out for autumn is a win. I bought these long black denim shorts this summer since none of my previous summer shorts were fitting me but really enjoyed getting more use out of them.

Why These Boots

And now about the boots. See I want to be this person who can pull off the flat knee high boots but that just doesn’t work with on my frame. So these Dune boots fit the bill perfectly – slight heel and just shorter than the knee.

Even last year, when Dune sent me a bag I remember eyeing their boots so I was very happy when Dune offered to send me a pair of boots this year. I chose these ones for two main reasons – first, the heel is perfect. Not high enough to be uncomfortable but not flats that I just can’t pull off. Second, I really like how sleek and minimalist these ones look. Boots like this are already quite a statement so I don’t think they need anything more. The zip is also hidden which I liked. I am very particular about hardware and hate mixing metals so like the fact that these ones work both with silver and gold.

I now feel my boots wardrobe is finally complete.

I definitely want to try this shorts and boots combination again – its a perfect outfit for autumn. Lets see if I can pull it off again.

Thanks to Dune for the gorgeous bots and DJ for the photos.
