After the winter in London you almost forget what warmth is. You start wondering if you will ever be able to go outside without a coat. Feeling the sun on your arms and legs is an amazing feeling. I loved the winter days we spent in Havana – hot sun and warm breeze. This is one of my beach dresses so although I have owned this white crochet dress forever you may have never seen it on the blog.

We spent about three whole days walking around Old Havana. And I am still not sure or satisfied that we saw everything we wanted to see. I wrote a post about some practical tips and one about the beautiful cars.

So I’ll admit I wasn’t happy about the black and brown mix of accessories I had to wear for this post. This was the only bag I had and the shoes were the only ones left by the time I got to Havana. I threw out 3 pairs of shoes since they were all on their last legs. (Ok that was an amusing coincidence!) I have had these black ones forever and I have been quite impressed with them. They lasted almost 5 years or so!

Outfit details: white crochet dress with slit from Stradivarius (for a list of similar dresses scroll down), black leather flats from H&M (found this fantastic one in silver), brown cross-body bag from House of Fraser (worn with a slip dress and simple jeans and a tee), straw hat from can’t remember (sorry but this could work too) and pendant from Bali.

This white crochet Stradivarius dress was a good find but of course, it not available anymore but I managed to find something very similar – a long one and a shorter one. I liked the one I am wearing as well as these ones I have picked since they are good for the beach but you can wear them off the beach too. Most crochet ones are only appropriate for beach wear which is a little annoying because for me that would mean wearing it no more than 5 days a year!

And thats it for now. Let me know your thoughts on beach dresses in the city. Would you? Also please make sure to subscribe for our emails (you can subscribe on this page or just leave your emails in the comments and we can add you to the list). We will definitely start using the subscription list a little more and plan to have a newsletter sometime soon (which of course means atleast 3 months!).

Hey Anissa!
I love your writing and this post! I would love you to write a guest blog entry to my blog series of The Art of Disguise wherein you wear different style in the fashion line for a day… and describe your experience about how others perceive you and how you see yourself. I see that you have tried a beach dress in the city! Against all stereotypical beliefs! This is what I want to achieve through my series – to see if the world is still a stereotypical society. To see some posts related to this, you are welcome to my blog THE RINK http://www.therinkcom.wordpress.com .

Its beautiful Carolyn – highly recommended!
If it was colder you could have thrown a leather jacket or a denim jacket over it and looked fabulous!
Thats definitely what I plan to do this summer! I need to wear this more often.
White is pure ! That reminds me – I don’t have a white dress ! :p
The perfect white dress is definitely a essential in my book! Go get one!
Crochet is <3 I would really love to add a piece to my wardrobe. I have a white stole, but I use it sparingly just to make sure it does not get worn out.
It does look lovely and especially summary!
