Welcome to a new Five Things post! I can’t believe its November already. Where did this year go? I’m simultaneously upset that this year has flown by so fast and also can’t wait for it to be over already because 2016 (so far) has been insane and looks like it could be getting even crazier. The last couple of weeks have been almost a blur. We launched Zari By Fashion and Frappes that we’re super proud of, and then it was Diwali! I’ve had more sleepless nights and consumed more coffee in these last few weeks then I’ve probably had this whole year.

My birthday was last month and I baked myself this humongous cake. It had 3 tiers of chocolate and coffee cake layered with chocolate and butterscotch buttercream frosting and then I covered the whole thing with chocolate ganache. Yes I did get a little carried away but I have no regrets. It was the most amazingly moist and delicious cake ever and it took us 3 days to finish. And by ‘us’ I mean mostly me, because well I don’t like to share and it was my birthday! Best birthday gift I’ve given myself ever. I’m thinking of turning it into a yearly birthday tradition.

Now for the fun part. Here’s me setting up for the shoot for our new shop! We plan to do a detailed post about all the stuff that went into creating it, but I have to say that it involved way more time and effort than I initially imagined. But I enjoyed the process so much that it hardly seemed like work. Lets just say that its not something that can happen overnight. But we did the entire process ourselves and every little detail was planned and discussed for months! Do check out the store if you haven’t already!

Heres Dobby posing next to my Vaya Tyffin, This cat will take any opportunity for a photo-op. My status as a cat lady remains intact in case you were wondering. You can be one too! I’ve noted down some quick and easy how-to steps in my most favorite post ever.

I also got all dressed up in a sari for a family function last week. I honestly would happily take any excuse to wear a sari but for this particular one I had to be up at 6! But apart from that it was a lot of fun. I was generally very impressed with myself that I was able to get ready, wear a sari and look presentable by 6 in the morning. Getting better with age indeed.

If you follow us on Instagram you’ve probably seen this picture already, but I had to include it here anyway because I love the picture! These are only a few of Bidisha’s jeans. She has tons of them in all colors of the rainbow I think. Would you be interested to see a post on our collective denim collection? Denim fever continues, and I’m still on the hunt for the perfect denim jacket. Let me know if you have any suggestions for any good ones.
So thats it for this issue of Five Things, you can find our previous posts in this series here. Please check us out on Facebook for updates and subscribe to our emails to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Last but not the least, as I mentioned earlier, this Diwali we introduced our first collection of saris – ZARI by Fashion and Frappes. These are now available in our Shop section. Take a look – you can buy them online straight from our website.
Till next time!
