My Day At Work And An #OOTD

30 October 2016 · 6 Comments

I wasn’t a big fan of culottes when they came into fashion, until the day I tried one at the Zara store. I realised after wearing them that it would be very difficult to go back to wearing jeans in this humid Mumbai weather, specially when heading to work. Frankly I didn’t  even know they were called culottes till I saw Anisha write a post wearing her favourite tan ones which I must admit are quite cool. The ones I picked up was a lovely powder blue colour.

What are culottes? ‘It is a women’s knee-length trouser, cut with full legs to resemble a skirt.’ If you don’t own one already you will find some great ones in Zara. Post the blue ones, I picked up two more to wear to work but my sister was not convinced. She insists they look like cropped pyjamas and I couldn’t pass them off as fashionable culottes. I beg to differ and will soon do an outfit post in my defense to prove that she is wrong.

My outfit details: Black top (similar) and blue culottes from Zara, aztec print shoes from a small store in Bhutan. (I picked them while travelling for Roadies)

I would prefer them without the slits on the side. Will go hunt for another in my next shopping expedition.

I think culottes are cute! I remember wearing them as a child but more short style. I love the word too, ha.

I’ve always been on the fence about culottes, maybe because I was forced to wear them in private school for years. These look so cute on you though.

Even I was not very fond of them initially, I still am a bit confused if I want to try them out. But they definitely are growing on me
