Spring has Sprung in London

3 May 2021 · 2 Comments

Spring in London was much awaited this year. Its not only the weather – sunnier days and the sharp numbing cold weather disappears but its also signalling the start of things opening up after about 4 months of winter lockdown which was hard.

We went and had our first meal outside the home about 3- 4 months so really enjoyed it.

Loved this fun wallpaper in the restaurant!

It was so nice finally going out to eat. We were talking to the guy at the restaurant serving us and you hear how hard it has been for them. He has been working throughout trying to get delivery orders out but due to Covid and social distancing of course, its been him on his own working to make it through to when the restaurant does manage to open up.

We have been booking and visiting restaurants to meet friends. Restaurants are allowing you to sit outside now in England so thats a bit of a relief and spring in London definitely makes it easier to sit outside. We try and ensure we book the smaller and independent places which have really struggled during the lockdown.

I want to be positive but honestly right now its difficult seeing the situation in India. If you are not aware, India is dealing with an unprecedented level of horror of this pandemic. I donated to this organisation, Mission Oxygen which is helping to organise and bring in oxygen cylinders into India and distribute it to the hospitals that need it the most. You can donate from within India as well as outside. Of course, do your own diligence and research and see where you want to donate. Anything you can do to help is much appreciated, even if you can spare only a nominal amount. Please don’t hesitate. There is a lot of information on my Instagram stories as well so have a look at the highlights.

Seeing the Old Vic was encouraging and heartbreaking at the same time. Theatres have had it so bad this pandemic. An institution like the Old Vic will survive but I wonder about all the other smaller theatres that will probably have to fold.

How has the opening up after the lockdown been for you? Have you been out for a meal yet? How does it feel? Would love to know how everyone is feeling about lockdown easing or whatever is happening in your part of the world.

It’s always a lovely place to enjoy. Waiting for this pandemic to get over. I had to start my trips as soon as possible. Very much frustrated inside house.
