About Last Weekend – Velvet From Head to Toe

A very happy Diwali everyone. Hope everyone had a lovely Diwali. Sadly, it was such a horrible evening on Saturday when it rained the whole time, I didnt end up taking any nice pictures of my Diwali outfit which I totally regret now. Its been so long since I wore Indian clothes and I miss it so much! Anyway, this post is about last weekend.

Velvet and Sezane white jeans

It was Dj’s birthday last Saturday we ee went out for lunch to celebrate. This is something we do every birthday or anniversary – we go out to a fancy Indian place for lunch. This was something we discovered a long time ago – almost all fancy restaurants have a weekend lunch menu which is way cheaper than the dinner menu even if it has the same items. Its a great way to try out some fancy new places wihout spending too much money in case its not as good as you hoped it would be. So thats a tip to check out.

And now about this velvet and Sezane white jeans outfit. I don’t know how else to describe this tee other than say its vintage from my closet. This tee is a part of a velvet tee and skirt set I bought as a part of my Durga Pujo shopping as a teenager. I could probably say this tee is about almost 20 years old.

Surprisingly it still fits me which is great. I thought an easy way to dress up white jeans was to wear this tee – the colour is gorgeous and it looks beautiful in the sun. I did think the faux fur jacket was a bit much but then my general attitude to clothing is why not just wear it?

Outfit details: white jeans (similar here and here), velvet tee (similar and in similar colour), faux fur jacket, velvet and glitter shoes and bag.

And now about the shoes. Lace and Favour emailed me asking if I would like to try out a pair of their gorgeous wedding shoes. Now their shoes are for brides as well so they are very fancy but since Bidisha’s wedding is coming up I decided it was a great idea.

And of course, there is no way I could wait till the wedding to actually wear the shoes so decided DJ’s birthday was the perfect event to look all out glam. I am not sure the birthday boy appreciated me being more dressed up than him but too bad!

Chanel boy bag and gold glitter shoes

What I really appreciated about these shoes were the fact they were almost the first pair of fancy shoes I own which are actually wearable and walkable. I am sure if you have ever bought shoes for a special occassion you know the heels on them are almost impossible to walk in let alone dance or actually enjoy the event you are at.

And last, you already know about the jeans. I am still obsessed with the jeans and manage to wear them constantly!

I might be less regular about posting for a couple of weeks while I figure out some stuff for the blog domain and hosting and other technical issues (which I’ll be honest I am not exactly sure about!). Our blog is due some maintenance and spring cleaning so I am taking a chance this Diwali to do some blog cleaning as well! I will probably be a little bit more regular on Instagram in the meantime but I will see you end of November, maybe the 25th if not earlier.

I have totally been getting into autumn and getting lazy about going out. But honestly, I am so looking forward to a little bit of hibernation but so excited to get ready new posts once all the technical stuff is sorted!
